“I quite fancy getting out on the streets and anywhere and getting a disguise on, and begging for a while, and see if anyone recognizes me. So they dropped me off at Lester Square. I collected about 4 or 5 pounds. I was out there for about an hour. There were some great people; this punk came up to me, and he turned out to be American, a visiting punk, and he said, “Are you Paul McCartney?” and I said, “Are you kidding?” and continued singing.”
